DAY-CARE FEEDING PROGRAM:

“Jedidiah Trust has with Judea Hope, put together a children feeding program that supply high protein, dehydrated meals to young vulnerable children at informal day-care centres.

The meals are highly nutritious with dehydrated ingredients comprising of rice, soy, vegetables, flavouring and 21 essential vitamins and

minerals designed by a medical Doctor. The meals are easy to transport, store and distribute to those in greatest need.

We attempt to ‘adopt’ a number of specific day-care centres and support them all year round.”

DAY-CARE FEEDING PACKING EVENT PROGRAM:

We invite companies. Individuals to sponsor a packing event or to contribute towards a packing event.

A packing event runs for 2-3 hours.

We mobilise the company’s employees or the community leaders to pack food for the feeding program. The company employees experience the event as a real contribution towards the program and we invite them to participate in the handing over of the food to the children’s home.

The packing event creates a sense of belonging and goodwill between the communities and the company and/or its employees.

A few pictures from some of these events.

We held packing events in many regions to date; South Coast KZN, Durban, Midrand, Pretoria, Cape Town, Middelburg and Johannesburg”

OTHER SOCIAL EVENTS:

time. This would vary from individuals to a group of terminally ill children. These are some of the events over the last two years.”

SOLAR LIGHTING PROJECT:

“Segametsi Hope identified solar lights as a method to significantly upgrade the lives of people living off the grid. We know that traditional lighting means such as paraffin (kerosene), candle lights and wood fire in houses are not only extremely dangerous when it cause a fire, but family members inhale toxic gasses (IAP) which are harmful for kids development and health risks in general.

Education is the only way to fight poverty. Without a proper and clean light in any house, kids will not be able to do their homework properly

or learn to develop a passion for reading to grow their knowledge.

This project concentrated mainly in the Khatorus and New Jerusalem areas in Ekurhuleni.

Given the success of this project, we plan to roll this out in other rural parts of SA”
